Samata

16 Sep

I wandered alone in winter without blankets,

I slept on the roadside without food;

This did not disturb me even a bit.

I enjoyed the Parivrajak life, I

was in communion with the Lord,

I understood His mysterious ways and help.

Then again, Maharanis served me during meals,

Maharajas fanned me, Ministers washed my feet.

I was neither elated nor puffed up,

I was wondering at the works of Maya,

I thought it was all a slight purging of some Prarabdha

That will help and hasten the Videha Mukti.

Samata alone can give peace.

Samata or eqanimity is Yoga.

There be established in Samata.

(Sri Swami Sivananda)

(b) Parivrajak – Wandering Yogi

no fear

15 Sep

have no fear of moving into the unknown.

simply step out fearlessly

knowing that I am with you,

therefor no harm can befall you;

all is very very well.

do this in complete faith and confidence.

Time to laugh

12 Sep

Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul. Take time to think, it is the source of power. Take time to read, it is the fountain of wisdom. Take time to love and be loved, it is a God-given privilege. Take time to work, it is the price of success.

creative power

9 Sep

deep down within the core of our being

lies a creative power

the capacity the create what is to be

and the urge to make unremitting efforts

until we have given it shape in one way or another

either outside ourselves

ow within our own person

(Goethe)

they won´t get it

8 Sep

they can lie to you

they can take your money or steal your work without paying you for it

they can insult you

they can make fun of you

they can be jealous or talk bad behind your back

they can wrape you, hit you or even kill you

but they cannot change YOU.

they cannot change who you are on the inside.

let them take it all.

they won´t get your soul.

only YOU can GIVE your soul.

it can never be taken.

just given.

so chose carefully.

my cooking show "Alles vegan!" has it´s own home now.... check out
http://kochen.veganblog.de/
and have fun cooking with us!
in case you have troubles understanding some (since it´s in german),
please leave a note here and I´ll make sure you will understand soon!

also if you are interested in learning more about animal-free nutrition, check out Jonathan Safran Foer´s new book
"Eating animals".
book link
Just like my show, the book is not trying to make you feel bad about eating animals through just nagging around,
but in an entertaining way is showing you all that is included in "meat production". After reading you will automatically
shift your thinking about what you put into your body and your responsibility towards other living beings and
our planet.
My show will then show you how to apply all that in your kitchen and still be able to have fun and enjoy delicious food!

Guten Appetit!

What a great documantary!

Unfortunately i missed the Maha Kumbha Mela in India this year because “job” called me back to Germany before April when it happened. Of course no words, films or books can describe India. Only being there can give you a glimpse of what it is like. And even spending months there or years will just allow you to have an idea of how full, diverse and rich this country really is. Forget a two-week holiday!

This report manages to put together some images though that let you guess what is going on at the greatest gathering of people in the world. It seems to be the essence of every ashram, sadhu-cave, temple, satsang, darshan or pooja I have ever been blessed to experience. It definately makes me miss India and i cannot wait to go back!

And how beautifully it reminds us of the most important truth: real bliss, happiness and peace cannot come from “things” or outer influences (or, like Swamiji says: “you don´t need the Mercedes” ; )- it can only come from within and needs to be realized by one self. Thank you, India!
